Prenatal Classes at Bridgeway Family Centre

The Bridgeway Family Center provides live and interactive online prenatal classes for expecting parents. Topics include: 1. Labour and delivery. 2. The basics of breastfeeding. 3. Going home with a baby and how to care for a newborn.

Are you a new parent looking for resources to help you and your child? Vita Center provides resources such as one-to-one counseling services for new parents and their children, connections to community resources, and other programs designed to make the journey to parenthood easier for new parents.

Breastfeeding Support

If you need help breastfeeding or have questions, contact Ontario Breastfeeding Support, which is available 24/7. This is a free service – and you can call as many times as you need. You will be connected to a registered nurse who can answer your questions about breastfeeding. You can get advice and referrals from nurses with translation support offered in other languages.

Parenting for Success at MIAG

This family program offers free skills enhancement training for parents, caregivers, and their children on various family and parenting-related topics. The children's program is led by a children's specialist who will focus on helping children further develop their social skills through fun games and activities.

Nobody's Perfect

Nobody's Perfect is a facilitated parenting program offered in communities for parents of children from birth to age five. The program is designed to meet the needs of parents who are young, single, socially, or geographically isolated, or low-income. Visit their site to find your closest service provider.

Child Resource and Development Centre (CDRCP)

Access resources and connect with support to find information, resources, licensed childcare, and learning programs for you and your family available within the Peel Region, such as EarlyON programs and service support for children with special needs.

Peel child care subsidy

Are you looking to place your child in daycare and worried about costs?

 

You can apply for a childcare subsidy, a grant from the government to help families pay for licensed childcare for their children 12 years and under. You must apply, find a childcare space, and meet eligibility criteria.

There are many benefits available to families living in Canada. These benefits are intended to help with the costs of raising children, including children living with special needs. Families can also access information on maternity, parental, and caregiving benefits.

CCS Women Resources

Access our resources to help you navigate the community and address your questions.

The resources are predominantly based within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), specifically the Peel Region. Site users are encouraged to practice due diligence regarding services and content and be especially mindful of the eligibility criteria should they choose to access any of the resources.
